The Border Between Light and Darkness Empty The Border Between Light and Darkness

Stepping lightly to the edge of her mountainside cave that overlooks the valley below, a white wolfess appeared from the shadows that had shrouded her over the night. The she-wolf's ice blue eyes narrowed at the striking bright dawn light that greeted her apperance, and as they adjusted she pondered where she were to move to now. Twilight had made her way to the valley because she'd heard that it was a beautiful place. And that was an understatement. The crystal blue skies above, dotted lazily with clouds that barely seemed to move, harboring the great bright sun abovehead. It shone down on the green valley and showed nothing but beauty between the two mountains on either side of it. The foliage and prey was more than abundant here; the perfect place to live. Which she had for a few months. She'd claimed this cave as her home when she'd first arrived, having to chase out a few rats and in the end share her living space with the bats, and had made a perfect living off of the plentiful mice, rabbits, deer, and other animals here. Waterfalls, believe it or not, were common here, cascading from a cliff face on the edge of a mountain and spraying the life below with water. There was a large creek that ran through the entire length of the valley, which the she-wolf had visited many times over to hunt for the succulent fish. Being run off from the mountains, the water was so clear you could spot the fish easily without having to spot their fast-moving shadows instead, like she was used to.

But she felt that now was time to move on, for the wolfess never stayed in one place for long. She didn't have any reason to. She wasn't part of any pack, she didn't have a family to raise of her own, and she didn't have a mate. Being just herself, the she-wolf, over the years, has moved from place to place, enjoying each area's beauty it had to offer. This was the longest time she'd stayed.

Picking her head up, she peered at the sky above her. Clear blue, just like it always had been the entire time she'd been here. One more day, she thought to herself, looking back down at the path ahead of her, leading down into the valley itself. I'll stay one more day. Her paws moved at a rhythmatic pace; each one picking itself up and dropping to the ground in the exact same time it had taken before, giving the she-wolf a peaceful, graceful gait. She swerved lazily to avoid trees and other foliage around her, passing through narrow pathways that scraped her sides as she passed. She could clearly hear small animals scuttle through the underbrush, trying to get away from the death that lurked through the forested valley.

(... I had no muse. =\ But I was bored and wanted to make a topic xD)

Marduk sat up from where he was sleeping in an opening beneath the rotting trunk of some ancient tree. He yawned, and opened his eyes, takingin the crisp mountain air of the valley. He had not been here before, but he was enjoying himself. There was plenty of prey, and quite a few places where he could gaze at the world.

He was still not quite ready to move on, so he walked through the trees to where a rock jutted out over a creek, and he lay there after taking a sip from the cool springwater. He started to close his eyes a bit as he watched the world go by.

OoC: Personality is a huge way to boost your post length. Try and explain how Marduk feels about the things he's done, seen, and how he feels; either mentally or physically.

Also, I have no muse for Twi at all xD

Twilight sighed to herself, though it was a happy, contented sigh that escaped from her jaws on a thought about how well life was at the moment. There was plenty of prey to last her a very long time, and everything seemed peacefull. At least for now. She'd have to hunt soon; she hadn't eaten a good meal in a few days. Deciding not to worry about that fact for now, she continued on her way down to the creek at the base of the valley. Foliage scraped against her coat along the way, sure to leave some kind of burr behind in her white coat. The light that managed to break through the layer of leavs overhead dappled her pelt as she walked in a not-so-hurried way. In fact, she was greatly enjoying her little hike. The scenery was beautiful, and it was a perfect day today. She almost seemed to lope through the brush.

Finally reaching her destination, the wolfess gazed down at the water with bright blue eyes, watching the fish below peacefully swim against the current. For a moment she debated getting one, but decided against it, not wanting to get soaked in the process. She wasn't the best hunter in the world, and fish were definately not the easiest for her to catch. Lowering her head, the female flashed out a pink tongue into the crystal water and drank quietly until her thirst was quenched. Raising her head again, she licked the droplets from her muzzle and peered up the stream, then back down again. To the left of her, there was a rather large rock jutting up above the water way, and resting atop that rock was a form. It looked like some kind of animal, but from this distance she couldn't determine what exactly it was. The wind was blowing the opposite way, so she didn't have the advantage of scent either. After a few moments of narrowing her eyes, attempting to make it out at this distance, she finally gave up and turned to head down that way on the opposite side of the stream. Curious, as always, she accused herself, but grinned nonetheless. It wasn't like she had anything else to do today.
